How we write, check and correct the guides on this site.

Last updated 2 October 2026

Who writes the guides on Oudbracelet?

Every guide on Oudbracelet is written by Wang Jianyu, founder of AgarwoodTown, an agarwood business trading since 2014. Each guide shows his name, the date it was first published and the date it was last updated. For example, all 44 guides carry those two dates at the top and in their structured data, so readers and search engines see the same record.

How are sources chosen and checked?

A source is a published paper, an official page or a reference work that someone else can open and read. First, we open every link and check the title, the authors and the year before a source goes into a guide. Second, each guide lists its sources under References, 166 in total across the site, from CITES, GIA and the USDA Forest Products Laboratory to papers such as Tan et al. (2019). Finally, a claim that no source supports is either removed or written as our own view.

Where do the numbers come from?

Numbers on Oudbracelet come from two places. Published figures carry their source, such as the GIA hardness and density values for jade. Our own figures come from our catalogue data and our wrist-fit model, worked out when the site is built: for example, bead counts for a wrist size, strand lengths and weight ranges for the 182 styles. Weight estimates use a density band of 0.60–0.95 g/cm³, and every quote still uses the real weight read off the scale.

What do we never claim?

We make no health or luck claims for agarwood or any stone. Traditional meanings appear as culture, in the words of the tradition, and never as a promise of any effect. Also, we do not name a growing region for our wood unless we can document it, and we never invent reviews, customers or test results.

How do you report an error?

Write to info@oudbracelet.com with the page address and what looks wrong. When a correction is needed, we fix the guide itself and its “updated” date changes, so the page always shows the current version.

Are there affiliate links, ads or sponsored posts?

No. Oudbracelet carries no affiliate links, no advertising and no sponsored content, and no one pays to appear in a guide. Links to AgarwoodTown point to our own company, which sells agarwood, oud oil and incense to businesses. The only thing this site sells is its own agarwood pieces, priced by weight after you approve the video.
